Quality Assurance
Technical quality is critical to the work we do at Dominion Engineering.
To serve our nuclear utility clients, DEI maintains two quality
assurance (QA) programs: one governing nuclear safety-related projects,
and another which applies to testing and measurement processes conducted
at our labs. All of the technical staff at DEI are trained in both
our safety and laboratory quality assurance programs.
Our QA program for safety-related work meets all requirements of
10CFR50 Appendix B, 10CFR21, and ASME NQA-1. Engineering projects
conducted under this program are periodically audited by outside
organizations such as NUPIC and NIAC. Both organizations have recently
affirmed our commitment to quality by giving us the maximum audit
interval of three years.
Our laboratory QA program was developed based on the requirements
of 10CFR50 Appendix B and ASME NQA-1, as well as special controls
requested by our customers. In addition to our general approaches
for controlling laboratory work, DEI develops project-specific procedures
for research/test programs with unique requirements.
